In Kagyu mahamudra meditation to attain a state of shamatha on the nature of the mind, the process whereby, with sustained meditation, the coarse and subtle conceptual thoughts and thus gross flightiness of mind, like waves on the ocean, subside back into the ocean of the mind without conscious effort.
