In dzogchen, the three naturally inseparable natures of pure awareness (rigpa): (1) its essential nature (ngo-bo) is its primal purity (ka-dag), (2) its influencing nature ('phrin-las) is its responsiveness (snying-rje), and (3) its functional nature (rang-bzhin) is its spontaneously establishing appearances (lhun-grub).
