Axiom of the nature of things

Redirected from Principle of nature

The principle that certain things are true facts just by the very nature of things, for instance fire being hot, and, therefore, to understand certain phenomena one needs to investigate whether they make sense in terms of what actually is the case in the world. One of the four axioms (rigs-pa bzhi) employed when thinking about something in order to understand it.
