The Emptiness of the False “Me”

Other languages
The self or “me” is an imputation phenomenon, a nonstatic phenomenon tied to the stream of continuity of our aggregate factors that make up each moment of our experience. It cannot exist or be known separately from those aggregates. Its existence can only be established in terms of what the word or concept of “me” refers to on the basis of these ever-changing aggregates that form a continuity according to individual karma. When we talk about the voidness of a self of a person, we are talking about the absence of various impossible ways of existing that our minds, out of the habits of confusion, project and confusedly believe correspond to our conventionally existent “me.” There are many levels of this false “me” that we need to refute in order to stop projecting and stop believing in these projections, step by step.
