There is a difference between how Tibetan students, both in Tibet and in exile, and Western students approach and study the Dharma. What is common between them is that the most committed type of spiritual seeker is a disciple of a spiritual mentor. What type of convictions and understandings are necessary for a disciple-mentor relationship?
