Cruelty

A mental factor, part of hostility (zhe-sdang, anger), with three forms: (1) hooliganism (snying-rje-ba med-pa), a cruel lack of compassion with which we wish to cause mischief or harm to others, (2) self-destructiveness (snying-brtse-ba med-pa), a cruel lack of self-love with which one wishes to cause mischief or harm to oneself, and (3) taking perverse pleasure (brtse-ba med-pa, "Schadenfreude"), cruelly rejoicing when seeing or hearing of others’ suffering. One of the twenty auxiliary disturbing emotions.
