One of the eight composing mental factors employed for attaining a state of shamatha: to overcome the deterrent of not applying the opponents for flightiness of mind and mental dullness, having the perseverance to apply mindfulness and alertness by naturally accepting what has to be done and what has to be gotten rid of, and taking control to apply oneself.
