Dependent arising shows us how, through our unawareness and confusion, we perpetuate over and again having a limited body and a limited mind, which are going to act as the basis for experiencing suffering. The twelve links in reverse order indicate how we actually get out of samsara. This teaching on the twelve links of dependent arising represents the core of the understanding of the four noble truths.
