Tsenshap Serkong Rinpoche presents the text called Method of Practicing the Instructions for “The Three Essential Moments,” a root text composed by the Indian master Maitriyogi and transmitted to the Tibetan translator Drogpu Lostawa Jampa Pel. The Three Essential Moments are the instructions on the Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig) practice performed while one is alive, the instructions on transference of consciousness for the moment of dying and the instructions on blending appearances intended to be applied during the in-between bardo state after death. Serkong Rinpoche also clarifies the importance of Avalokiteshvara practices that help one to develop compassion to all beings and suggests not neglecting them.
