Asserting one's identity

The fourth of the four "obtainers" (nyer-len) that constitute the ninth link of dependent arising, the link of an obtainer. The deluded attitude of asserting oneself to exist as an atman, a static, partless self that is either identical with one of the aggregates or totally separate from them as their possessor, controller or inhabitant. Equivalent to a deluded outlook toward a transitory network ('jig-lta).
