The composite of a motivating emotion, motivating karmic impulse (motivating karmic urge) and motivating intention, but primarily the motivating karmic impulse that initially draws the mind into engaging in the mental action of thinking about committing a physical or verbal action. The causal motivating karmic impulse is equivalent to an inciting karmic impulse (sems-pa, inciting karmic urge).
