Four major Kagyu traditions

The four traditions of Dagpo Kagyu that derived from direct disciples of Gampopa (sGam-po-pa, Dvags-po Lha-rje bSod-nams rin-chen) (1079-1153): (1) Karma Kagyu (kar-ma bka'brgyud), (2) Tsal-pa Kagyu (tshal-pa bka'brgyud), (3) Barom Kagyu ('ba'-rom bka'-brgyud) and (4) Pagdru Kagyu (phag-gru bka'brgyud).
