Four practices done, in conjunction with open admission of one's mistaken behavior, for purifying the negative karmic potential built up by them: (1) sincere regret, (2) the firm decision to try not to repeat the action, (3) reaffirmation of one's foundation in safe direction and bodhichitta, and (4) application of counteracting constructive actions.
