A karmic impulse (urge) whose karmic tendency will be activated (gsos) as throwing karma, through the mechanism of the twelve links of dependent arising, so as to ripen on one's resultant consciousness, and thus having certainty as to the time frame of experiencing its result. Such a karmic impulse derives from deliberating beforehand whether or not to do a certain action and then deciding to do it, thus boosting the strength of the karmic tendency it leaves on one's mental continuum. Some translate the term literally as "built-up karma," "accumulated karma," or "collected karma," but a literal translation does not convey the actual meaning.
