Taking Safe Direction

I take safe direction always from the Blissfully Gone Buddhas, in whose minds have come to be present (the ultimate realization of voidness – everything being) the play of the mind, actualized like the (waxing) moon, and the boundless methods of pure compassion.

I take safe direction always from the hallowed Dharma – (the true pathway minds) that are definitely freed from (dualistic) concepts, without an exception, and which are the bases for the splendid (attainments) of the holy (realized) beings, and (the true stoppings, voidness,) the essential nature in which all phenomena are of one taste.

I take safe direction from (the Sangha), the community of those with command over tamed behavior, who have gained the successive bhumi-minds, “extremely joyous” and so on, with which they’ve become totally freed from (corresponding) levels of bondage and have the glories of (realizations due to their bodhichitta) produced by their supreme compassion.

Enhancing Our Bodhichitta Aim

I enhance (my bodhichitta), my mind’s aim to enlightenment, which, by making it pure through the (exceptional) resolve and ripening (stages) will (reach the endpoint) of totally extracting the roots of the habits of my obscurations, through its having been adorned (beforehand with the stage of) special admiration.

Instantaneous Self-Generation

I now arise as Dvesha-vajra, with a black-colored body, three faces – black, white and red – and six arms. In my right hands, I hold a vajra, wheel and a lotus, and in my left, a bell, jewel and sword. I am embraced by Sparsha-vajra, resembling me.

We are both adorned with the eight jewel ornaments; the upper parts of our bodies are draped with heavenly scarves; and our lower parts girded by heavenly silks.

Purification and Transformation of the Environment and the Beings Therein

From our place of union, joined as father and mother, light rays of bodhichitta go forth, conferring empowerment to all limited beings, cleansing them of obstacles, and transforming them into HUMs.

These completely fill the expanse of space and transform to become Vajradharas. Drawn back by the rays of my light, they dissolve into me.

OM YOGA SHUDDHAH, SARVA DHARMAH YOGA SHUDDHO ‘HAM

Dedication

By the constructive (force) of this, may I quickly attain a Vajradhara state, the state of an all-encompassing lord of all the Buddhas; and may wandering beings attain it as well.

May I practice both sorts of activity: those actions that are for becoming enlightened, as well as those spoken of by Bodhi-vajra as being those of a Fully Enlightened Buddha.

May there never be hindrance to the proper practice of this ultimate wondrous path like that, and from its spreading and flourishing everywhere, at all times, may all wandering beings be freed through mastery of its methods.

Dissolution When Going to Sleep

The deities of my body: Vairochana, Lochana, Kshitigarbha, Rupa-vajra, Maitreya, Yamantakrit and Achala Dissolve in turn into clear light.

Then Ratnasambhava, Mamaki, Vajrapani, Shabda-vajra, Aparajita and Takkiraja dissolve in turn into clear light.

Next Amithaba, Pandaravasin, Khagarbha, Gandha-vajra, Hayagriva and Niladanda dissolve in turn into clear light.

Then Amoghasiddhi, Tara, Lokeshvara, Rasa-vajra, Sarva-nivarana-viskambhini, Sparshavajra, Samantabhadra, Vighnantakrit and Mahabala dissolve in turn into clear light.

Then Ushnisha-chakravartin, then Sumbharaja and then Manjushri dissolve in turn into clear light.

Then I myself, the main figure, as well dissolve into clear light.

[Before dawn, imagine that you are awoken by the songs of the four goddesses and arise instantaneously as a Form Body, Akshobhya.]
