According to the Tibetan traditions, the wish for sentient beings beyond number to have the joy of never being parted from the happiness of liberation and which rejoices in whatever happiness they have. Because it is developed in common by Hinayana and Mahayana practitioners, its audience does not include arhats. Its actual attainment requires its being held by one of the states of mental constancy (Skt. dhyāna).
