A validly knowable phenomenon that, when actually cognized, relies on actual cognition of something else, for instance the object's basis for imputation, immediately prior to it. (1) According to Sautrantika, it must also rely on cognition of something else simultaneously with actual cognition of it. (2) According to Chittamatra, Svatantrika and Prasangika, it may or may not also rely on cognition of something else simultaneously with it.
