Commentary on “The Heart Sutra” – Dr. Berzin

The longer title of “The Heart Sutra” is “The Essence of Far-Reaching Discriminating Awareness, the Vanquishing Lady Surpassing All.” Far-reaching discriminating awareness refers to the discriminating awareness of voidness. This essential text is often recommended for daily meditation on voidness. After starting our meditation session with taking refuge, reaffirming our bodhichitta and reciting the seven-part prayer, we would read or recite this text and reflect on its various points.
