Anuttarayoga tantra aims to combine the subtlest clear light mind, the deep awareness of voidness and great bliss into a single state to achieve Buddhahood. In the Kalachakra system, practitioners specifically work to purify both the external cycles and internal cycles driven by collective and individual karmic winds. The tantric path operates through the analogy, utilizing the generation and complete stages as parallel structures to both the impure basis and the resultant enlightened state. During the generation stage, practitioners use their imagination to visualize themselves as Buddha-figures, building cognitive habits essential for the success on the complete stage, where energy-winds actually dissolve into the body’s six chakras. Advancing to this complete stage generates 21,600 moments of unchanging blissful awareness that eliminate the obscurations preventing omniscience and genuine liberation.
