Strategies for Deconstructing Jealousy

Underlying the disturbing emotion of jealousy is a basic confusion about reality, about how we and others exist. Misconceiving the self and things as solid and findable, and dividing the world or ourselves into “winners” and “losers,” doesn’t make that real. The best strategy for overcoming jealousy is to deconstruct our misconceptions that we have about ourselves and others. When we free ourselves of such conventions and categories and see events and life for exactly what they are, we can overcome jealousy and other disturbing emotions.
