The network of all instances of the six or eight types of primary consciousness that could be part of any moment of experience on someone's mental continuum. One of the five aggregate factors of experience. The six types are eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness and mental consciousness. When eight types of primary consciousness are asserted, deluded awareness and foundation consciousness (skt. ālayavijñāna) are added.
