An unbroken continuity of a nonstatic phenomenon, one that is affected by causes and conditions and thus is subject to subtle impermanence, changing from moment to moment. Some continuums have no beginning and no end, such as the mental continuum; some have a beginning and an end, such as one's body; some have a beginning and no end, such as someone's death; and some have no beginning but can have an end, such as the unawareness on someone's mental continuum.
