One of the branches from among the eightfold noble path. (a) For ordinary beings, as part of the higher training in discriminating awareness, cultivating good intentions, marked by benevolence, not being cruel (nonviolence), and emotional equilibrium. (b) For aryas, the branch that brings understanding – namely, the motivating thought of an arya that wishes to explain Buddha’s texts to others in accord with the right view one has gained.

Tibetan: ཡང་དག་པའི་རྟོག་པ། yang-dag-pa'i rtog-pa
