A practitioner, of the shravaka, pratyekabuddha or bodhisattva class, who has achieved a true stopping of the emotional obscurations (nyon-sgrib) and thus has attained liberation (nirvāṇa) from uncontrollably recurring rebirth (saṃsāra).
