The way of being aware of something that draws the primary consciousness and congruent mental factors into an action or a state of mind, but which does not necessarily endure throughout the action or the period in which the state of mind occurs. The motivation can refer to the motivating emotion, the motivating karmic impulse or the motivating intention (motivating aim), or it can refer to the motivating drive, which is a composite of all three.
